President and Co-Founder

“SocialVoice™ is about the third dimension of a brand.  It reflects what people understand, what they believe, and what is deemed worthy of sharing with others about that brand. The perceptions played back by people are real and genuine….Perception if left unchallenged becomes reality..Perception shared by many becomes social truth”

The challenge of branding is rarely about developing something new. It’s about having the wherewithal to see beyond what is seen. To identify the unidentifiable. To transcend words and data in order to reach the soul. The ability to do all of this requires duality of the mind. The whole brain, if you will.

This is, perhaps, the best way to describe Anneliza Humlen’s stewardship of the brand-building process, as well as explain her talent engendering long-standing client-partner relationships.

Anneliza Humlen co-founded the Emotional Branding Alliance with Marc Gobé.  She brings more than 18 years of experience building brands across the broadest spectrum of industries.  And has brought brands to life across almost every engagement dimension possible.   Anneliza is known for her ability to leverage her entrepreneurial drive in developing new ways to improve the quality of relationships between brands and people. She has a strong history of developing new agency competencies that employed the most progressive and innovative methods in brand strategy, market research and concept innovation.

Anneliza has continued to bring the dimensions of Emotional Branding to life with the creation of SocialVoice™  – a proprietary concept and program that focuses on brand building through social communication and engagement.   In addition to development of new EBA IP,  Anneliza is also creating new programs, methodologies and learning formats dedicated to ensuring client success in their social engagement and branded communication  efforts.

In keeping with the principles of Emotional Branding, Anneliza champions the need for brands to play an active and meaningful role within society.  The creation of Travelocity’s CSR program “Travel for Good” is just one example of how  she has brought forth the humanity of a brand to its employees and general public.  Anneliza’s passion for  CSR, Cause Marketing, Nonprofit and Social Entrepreneurship is a prominent characteristic through all of Anneliza’s work.  She is a respected voice within the CSR related social communities, writer and guest blogger.

Anneliza’s branding career began in advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi, NYC.  In 1996, she joined the award-winning branding firm, DG (formerly known as Desgrippes Gobé).  Anneliza accomplished within her eleven years at DG, what most could only hope for within an entire branding career.   She led large branding programs for such clients as Victoria’s Secret, Peugeot, IBM, P&G and Johnson & Johnson.  She stewarded brands such as BMW and Barnes & Noble from innovation exploratory through to market analysis and planning.  She developed the marketing, brand and launch strategy for the creation of a branded customer service program for Dassault Falcon Jets. Most recently, Anneliza lead the E.B Alliance effort in creating a Management Training Program for Samsung dedicated to fostering a corporate culture of social engagement.

Anneliza (often referred to as “AL” by friends and colleagues),  pursued art history and financial analysis as an undergraduate student. She studied at Dickinson College and abroad at London University’s Goldsmith’s College.  She is a wife, mother of two, sister of two and friendly, engaging peep to many on the twittersphere.  She is a science/tech geek wannabe, a music lover, concert junkie and self-confessed shoe addict.
